Peter Townsend

Based in Christchurch,Peter Townsend is a member of the New Zealand Board of Trustees of the Hillary Institute of International Leadership.

Peter is Chief Executive of the Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce, one of New Zealand's leading and largest business support agencies. He has enjoyed 35 years in Senior Management and Governance positions in New Zealand and Chile with a key focus on International Trade. In addition to his role with the CECC he is Chairman and Director of several companies and is involved in a variety of national and local trusts at Board level. Peter is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Directors and a Fellow of The New Zealand Institute of Management. He is passionate about the role of quality leadership in society and a strong advocate of environmental, social and economic sustainability.
